September 1851 issue of "North American Miscellany Magazine of Choice Selections from the Current Literature of This Country and Europe" published out of New York by Angell, Engel & Hewitt. New Series -- No. 1.
Includes articles about Public Buildings in London with illustrations, A Visit to Robinson Crusoe, Madame Goetzenberger's Christmas Eve by Mary Howitt, Sir Robert Sale, Five Months in an Ancient Irish City, Two Poems by Eliza Cook ("The Ploughshare of Old England" and "The Forest Trees"), Escape of an Austrian Prisoner, plus Chronicles of Passing Events, a few pages of Advertising, including on the back cover which is shown towards the bottom of this listing.
GRADING - CONDITION:
In strong enough shape for me to page through the entire issue and say it appears complete. Top corner of front cover chipped off as shown in the scan below. Some edge wear, soiling. Clean white pages inside. Most, but not all, of the spine has rubbed off, and the issue does still hold together quite well. I'd grade this F-G or 2.5/10, not too bad considering the issue is 156 years old!
