This is a beautiful vintage jewelry box from the early 70's, it is simply incised Made In Japan on the bottom. This is a decorative metal with a china topper that has two hand painted doves setting on a branch on top. This lifts open with a hinged top and is lined with a red velvet type material. The base is rather ornate with a scrolling design and what looks to be oriental roses. This is footed and just as beautiful as can be. The metal shows some wear but very minor considering the age. This was my mothers and she has owned this as long as I can remember, I put 70's on the date, but it is probably much older than that. She always used this for rings and kept it placed by her bed, it is a smaller holder perfect for rings or earrings. This stands about 4.5" tall and is 3.25" wide. This is a great vintage item, I remember thinking as a child how beautiful it was!
