Welcome, bonanzlers! This is a vintage Dietz Monarch kerosene railroad or barn lantern. It measures about 13 1/2 inches high with a bottom diameter of 6 3/8 inches. It is a blue/green color, with some surface wear and rust, but nothing is rusted through. This lamp is very well marked: The lower part is marked "Dietz N.Y. USA Monarch", the glass is marked "Dietz Syracuse, N.Y. U.S.A" and also is marked "Fitzall LOC-NOB Reg'd US Pat. Off." and the top is marked "Dietz Monarch New York N.Y. USA". I haven't used this lantern, so I can't vouch for the overall operation, but the screw cap for the fuel well works fine and it looks as if all it needs is a new wick and a surface cleaning. This is a lantern from the good old days, not a modern reproduction.
