Welcome, Bonanzlers! This is an unusual hard rubber or molded plastic mallard duck decoy signed on the bottom under the tail "Joe Revello" and imprinted "16112 1983 Craftex, Inc.". Revello did carve a number of excellent wood decoys that have fetched some nice prices at auction, which can be verified on a google search. This particular decoy measures about 13 1/2 inches from tip of bill to end of the tail, 5 3/4 inches to the top of the head and about 5 1/4 inches wide at the widest point. This mallard duck decoy is nicely colored, with the green head, mustard yellow bill and darker brown breast. The incised feather details on the body of this decoy are very nicely done. There are some traces of old glue or adhesive on the bottom, indicating that the decoy might once have been mounted on something. Revello's signature has some wear to it. There is a mold mark or seam down the center of the back and the eyes are hollow. And, it floats! A useful and collectible decoy.
