We started with a used horseshoe straight from the farrier, cleaned it up, and left it in its rustic form. We decorated it in blue and white. It has a blue leather hanging strap, the "bluebonnets" are made of blue and white beads, and a "good guys always wear white" hat is on the upper left side. The horseshoe measures apprx 5" x 4.5" and weighs just under 1 lb. It hangs flat against the wall, about 8" from the tip of the leather strap to the bottom of the horseshoe.
