Hello, comic strips & cartoons fans! This auction is for a ONE OF A KIND printer's proof page featuring the superpowers of JLA/Justice League of America member SUPERMAN! This rare man of steel printers proof was used by the printers in the direct production of the "Superman: the Sunday Classics" tpb/trade paperback produced by DC Comics and Kitchen Sink Press in the 1990's, which reprinted late 1930's & 1940's newspaper comicstrips based on Action Comics. This scarce proof measures approximately 13 x 10 inches and would look perfect displayed in a frame, or even matted. The trade paperback that this proof was used to create featured vintage Sunday Funnies comic strip cartoon adventures of Superman from the late 30's & 40's golden age era. This proof page is in excellent condition, and looks MUCH clearer in person, and the names Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster appear on this proof page (they created Superman in the 1938 Action Comics issue #1).
Much like original artwork and color guide pages, printer proofs were also vital in the production of the actual comic book or trade paperback. Printer's proofs are created by the production staff or by the printers for quality control purposes before printing the actual comic books. This description is (C) RLC.
