Steam engines were used as the prime mover in pumping stations, locomotives, steam ships, traction engines, steam lorries and other road vehicles.

They were essential to the Industrial Revolution and saw widespread commercial use driving machinery in factories and mills, although most have since been superseded by internal combustion engines and electric motors.

There are those that still admire those beautiful machines from our history. These individuals enjoy building and operating models of steam engines and machines in their spare time.

This is a huge collection of 4 PDF files on one CD. It covers all types of steam boilers, steam kettles & steam testing, sure to please the model builder.

BUILD A MODEL STEAM BOILER + MORE STEAM KETTLE PLANS

A document devoted to the construction of model boilers may well open with a few cautionary words, as the dangers connected with steam-raisers are very real; and though model-boiler explosions are fortunately rare, if they do occur they may be extremely disastrous.

So begins this very cool science project document. You'll learn how to build several versions of model steam boiler, including quick boiling kettles.

There are many detailed illustrations and a wealth of knowledge waiting to be discovered. An ideal science class project, scouting troop project and of course, it's perfect for the big, grown-up kids who like to tinker with such things.

HOW TO BUILD SMALL BOILERS & FITTINGS MODELERS PLANS

This is a wonderful set of plans to build two different types of small boilers for powering small model engines.

It originates from the early 1900's and is a nice addition to any model engine plans you've built or consider building.

These plans include information about how to build the boiler to exactly suit the needs you have for it. If you enjoy building models, this is a great one to do. It covers two seperate types of boilers and all the fittings.

A great resource for the model maker and the model engineer. Add this digital document to your library of plans today.

MANUFACTURING MODEL BOILERS INCL FITTINGS PLANS & INSTR

Small boilers to drive model steam engines may be made according to several different designs. Some of these are more efficient than others and some are more adaptable than others.

This document, which originates from the early 1900's discusses several of these types of boilers and how they're constructed.

It's a fascinating trip back nearly 100 years!

With the information contained, an experienced builder will be able to easily build one or all of these steam boilers.

Novices will find that the text and illustrations are a huge help and will also be building and using a boiler they created themselves. Any of these will make for a fascinating science project at home or in the classroom.

STEAM BOILER FURNACE TESTING OPERATORS ENGINEERS MANUAL

A boiler test is necessary in order to determine how well the boiler is doing the work expected of it; that is to say, we must find out whether we are wasting coal in making steam and how much this waste may be.

Such a test may be made to discover the efficiency of the boiler, or the quantity of water it is evaporating, or the cost of evaporating 1,000 pounds of water.

This is a nice vintage document from the turn of the century that details steps that are required to fully test a steam boiler or steam furnace.

It includes illustrations and tables that explain how to do the test, what the results mean, etc. A nice vintage addition to the HVAC Mans' digital library.
