This is a 4 inch by 4 inch trivet or hot pan/pot holder tile. It has a Native American story teller mother (Omi) with her five children as the picture. It's a red clay of some type probably terra cotta or similar and has four small cork pads on the bottom to keep it from slipping or damaging any surfaces. Looks like it was a souvineer of Albuquerque, New Mexico.
