Sneezeweed ( Helenium autumnal) Here is one Sneezeweed native to the Mid-Atlantic region. The name is a misnomer - it DOES NOT make you sneeze. This plants is strikingly beautiful when planted in mass or as a stand alone clump. The plant will come to you in a 3.5 inch pot. Soak thoroughly before planting. Water regularly as this plant loves moist areas. It’s a great plant for wet spots in the yard where the grass won’t grow. Can be used in sunny bog gardens. Description: Sneezeweed is most often found in yellow, but has also been found in red, oranges or combinations. The flowers are ray-like with a disk in the center, usually yellow, but sometimes a purple color. It grow 2 - 5 ft tall. Culture: Sneezeweed likes full sun and moist soil. In the wild it is often found along streamsides and wet marshes. Bloom time is mid- to late summer and looks great with those early fall flowers. They are hardy in zones 3 - 8. Wildlife benefit: Sneezeweed’s nectar is sought by butterflies of many kinds. Eco-friendly grower All of my plants are grown using earth friendly techniques, from seed collection to watering with rainwater. Pots are 100% recylced, some are re-used containers, others are made from recycled plastics. Plants are fed with PLANT-TONE by Espoma, an organic fertilizer and/or worm castings. I grow plants that can replace those lost to development in order to help sustain wildlife that depend on them. You can be assured that you are not getting plants from the wild, which is unethical and further contributes to habitat loss. ***Check my other listings. Native plant range and our shipping Most of our plants are also found native to the Midwest, however that is generally the extent of their range. In an effort to keep our native plants native to their natural range, we do not ship west of the Great Plain States. This includes Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, Idaho, Utah, Nevada, California, Oregon, Washington, Alaska, Hawaii. If you live in these states, please do not order. Raven's note: I offer only healthy, robust, plants that I have taken great care in growing. I also take great care in packing them. If for some reason they arrive in poor condition, I may refund or exchange at my discretion. You must notify me within 2 days of receiving them as I cannot be responsible for them once their care is out of my control. Sometimes despite all efforts, a plant gets dehydrated during transit. Just set the plant in its pot in a tray of water for a couple of hours and this should bring it around. Please note that I may need to trim plants back to fit them in their boxes. This will not hurt them; it actually encourages further growth.
