An antique Victorian style oil on canvas still life painting of red, pink, yellow and white roses in a white pitcher vase, signed on the lower right "Rubel". The painting itself measures 18 inches wide and about 15 inches high, and is set in a shabby pale gray and tan streaked wooden frame measuring 23 1/2 inches wide by 20 1/4 inches high. The old wood canvas stretcher has a faded stamp that says "Made in France" and there canvas is attached with old rusted nails. The back of the canvas has some foxing and yellowing there is 1/8 inch pinpoint thinned area to the center right, but otherwise no damage. It is a charming Old World still life image of roses, perfect for traditional decor.
