Baluch Prayer Rug - circa 1990s This is a rare example of a modern "Tree of Life design" prayer rug. This is a great example from the Shir Khani tribe in western Afghanistan. The rug is from Herat province, Afghanistan. The age is approximately 15 yrs. It has a kilim border on all four sides of the rug- making it a pretty unique example. The rug is in excellent like new condition. It has an all wool pile with classic colors and a low clipped pile- the weaving on this rug is first rate. This rug was imported directly from Herat, Afghanistan.
