The Bastard King

Book One of the Norman Trilogy

I am offering ex libris copy of The Bastard King by Jean Plaidy. This is the pen name of the renouwned English writer, Eleanor Hibbert, who wrote numberous series of historical fiction, as well as many stand-alone novels. She is perhaps best well known under another pen name, Victoria Holt.

This copy of The Bastard King is the 1979 First American Edition by G.P. Putnam's Son.

It is the first book in her Norman trilogy and deals with the humble background and remarkable destiny of William the Conqueror.

This ex libris copy has been WITHDRAWN from library circulation. The book shows normal library defacements, including marks from adhesive tape on the endpapers. Otherwise, the book is in very good condition with a strong block, tight hinges, and clean, crisp pages.

The dust jacket also looks very good. The mylar cover has protected it well. However, please note that the front dust jacket shows some chipping, as pictured. In additiin, the librarian marked out Jean Plaidy on the dust cover and printed in ink on the dust jacket: "Eleanor Hibbert."
