Yep, that's me in the photo. Not some high-priced model, but the real me. I know you're shocked. The poster, by the way, is from the 2004 Southern Festival of Books, signed by 160+ authors. I'm obsessive about books and authors, so sue me.
I started selling books in 1998, with a brick and mortar store and everything. I even have two cats. The brick and mortar closed in 2006, lost the least type of deal, but the online selling goes on. When Ebay went berserk earlier this year and decided to commit suicide, I took the hint and landed here. Lucky you, right?
Some people have asked me if I don't sell my books pretty cheaply, at least compared to other sellers. The answer is: offer me more and I'll take it! Wait, no, that's not the real answer. The real answer is that I do sell my books for as little as possible. If I was looking to get rich I would be panning for gold, not selling books. If you get a good deal, we're both happy.
I'm lucky enough to belong to the finest Guild of Booksellers in the world, conveniently enough called www.worldbookmarket.com. We might not have every book you want, but if we've got it you know you'll be getting what you pay for. (There's a novel concept for you.)
Billthebookguy.com isn't open yet, with all the cool blogs and videos and reviews it will have, but opening day should be coming soon. Hope to see you at the premier and remember, if you like the show, no applause, just throw money.
